CGES Summer Programs

The ASU Center for Global Education Services (CGES) offers two distinct types of summer programs.  We encourage interested students to explore all summer program options by following the links below.

 Faculty Directed Programs

Faculty Directed programs are study abroad programs led by an ASU faculty member.  In a Faculty Directed program, students pay ASU tuition for their courses, according to their classification and degree level.  Students also pay a program fee which generally includes accommodations, meals, local transportation, program related excursions, airfare, and other expenses.  Each program focuses on a certain academic discipline with students earning direct ASU course credit, and incorporates excursions and field trips to give students the opportunity to explore and learn about their host country.

 Exchange, Partnership & Internship Programs

In an Exchange, Partnership, or Internship Program, students will be in classes with students from the host country, or with other U.S. and international students.  Students will earn ASU credits and grades for the work completed at the host institution.  In exchange programs, students pay their regular ASU tuition, but will also be responsible for paying for flights, housing, books, food, travel, etc.  In Partnership and Internship programs, participants DO NOT pay ASU tuition.  Instead they pay a program fee, which includes tuition and MAY include additional features like accommodation, meals, dedicated on-site staff, in-country orientations, airport pick-up, insurance, overnight excursions, and local field trips as part of a comprehensive program package. Compare program details and costs carefully because not all programs include the same features.
